1. Introduction

Brunch After (“Brunch After,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a sports-first dating app that connects people through shared activities like pickleball, padel, tennis, and golf, followed by brunch. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

This app and service are intended for users located in the United States.

2. Eligibility

Brunch After is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it along with the associated data. See Section 10 for more.

3. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide when you create your profile:

  • Your phone number (used for sign-up and login through a one-time verification code).
  • Profile details: your name, date of birth (to confirm you are 18 or older and to display your age), gender, and an “about me” description.
  • Profile photos you choose to upload.
  • Your sport(s), skill level, and playing preferences.
  • Your preferences about the kinds of people you want to meet.

b) Information generated through your use of the app:

  • Your likes, passes (swipes), and matches.
  • Messages you exchange with your matches in chat.
  • Games or brunches you schedule.
  • Reports and blocks you submit or receive (used for safety and moderation).

c) Location information:

  • We use your approximate location to show you nearby courts and venues and to help you find people in your area. Court and venue search is powered by a third-party maps provider (Google). You can control location permissions in your device settings.

d) Device and technical information:

  • Device model, operating system, device identifiers, IP address, and information about how you interact with the app.
  • If you enable notifications in the future, a token that allows us to send them to you.

4. Sensitive Information

Some photos, and the nature of a dating app itself, may reveal or allow inferences about information that can be considered sensitive. We process this information only to provide the service and only with your consent, which you provide by choosing to upload content and complete your profile. You can withdraw this consent at any time by removing the content or deleting your account.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create, manage, and protect your account.
  • Show you compatible profiles and enable matches.
  • Power chat between matches and help you organize games and brunches.
  • Keep the community safe (moderation, fraud and abuse prevention, and handling reports and blocks).
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
  • Improve and develop the service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following ways:

  • With other users: your profile (name, age, photos, sport, skill level, and description) is visible to other members as a core part of the service. Your messages are visible to your matches.
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf:
    • Supabase – database, photo storage, and authentication infrastructure (servers located in the United States).
    • Twilio – delivery of SMS verification messages.
    • Google – maps and places services for courts and location.
    • Expo / EAS – infrastructure that runs the app.
    • Notification providers (once that feature is enabled).
  • For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Brunch After, and to prevent harm.

We require our service providers to protect your information and to use it only to provide services to us.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access and request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information and your account.
  • Opt out of certain uses of your information.

California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access and deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” is required at this time.

How to exercise your rights: email us at privacy@brunchafter.com, or delete your account directly in the app. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

8. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information within a reasonable period, except for information we must retain to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or protect the safety of our community (for example, records related to abuse reports).

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS), row-level database access controls, and secure storage of photos. No system is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

10. Children’s Privacy

Brunch After is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, contact us at privacy@brunchafter.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Third-Party Services

Our app relies on third-party services (such as Google, Twilio, Supabase, and Expo) that have their own privacy practices. This Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means. The “Last Updated” date above indicates the current version.
